After being raped at the age of 14, music has helped me greatly. Writing music and playing with the army and school bands have been an escape of reality for me. It takes my mind off everything knowing I’m making people happy with music as well.  I’ve reached out to friends and music teachers who are close to me, I do my best to keep healthy and outgoing when trying to take care of my emotional well-being.  I know about the Five Signs and the Healthy Habits and they have helped me identify when a me or a loved one was struggling.  The Healthy Habit that works best for me is to Engage and to keep my relationships healthy so that I’m healthy emotionally.
