Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated
Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated pledges to share the Five Signs of emotional suffering with 250 people. We are the premier Greek-letter sisterhood in the Central region that is unified in action as we create opportunities for the Indianapolis community. We will achieve this through high quality programming and collaborative efforts with organizations sharing similar missions. Each year, we host 5-6 events focused on mental illness awareness. We plan to educate our audiences on the Five Signs at each of our events. Additionally, we have five different mentoring programs that target youth in our city. These programs start at the 6th grade all the way through college. We plan to educate our students and families about the Five Signs. Lastly, each year we have a booth at Indiana Black Expo. The booth has a focus on Mental Illness awareness. We will be distributing information about the Five Signs at our booth and encouraging people to take the pledge. Our goal is to impact 1000 people per year over the next five years. Specifically we will target minority communities as well as those with limited access to health care.
